close up of breakfast

Here is a close up of the breakfast as mentioned earlier. As the picture speaks for itself, I won’t bother to mentioned them.

bouquet of flowers

As part of the buffet spread deco, here are some flowers aka mother-in-law’s tongue, naughty boys’ or more appropriately known as Valentine’s Flower. The single heart shaped petal and an erect stalk certainly make this flower something out of the ordinary for a plant. You can also see the plates and sauces placed on the table covered with red satin cloth.

Petronas Twin Towers
Just outside our hotel (Grand Continental), I took this photo of Malaysia’s famous landmark which used to be the tallest building in the world some time back. It was the brainchild of Dr Mahathir, the former Prime Minister. The Petronas Twin Towers look majestic against the evening sky as it is lighted brightly and illuminate the darkness.

Buffet Breakfast

Above was my breakfast of the egg custard, garnished with lots of parsley, potato chips and vegetable pizzas. In the other place (not so obvious), was “roti canai”, sambal gravy and fried egg. I had a glass of pineapple juice and managed to scoop very hard and cold ice-cream too. Perhaps diners take too much ice-cream, it was almost frozen cold and very difficult to scoop up. I only managed small scoops portions but that was sufficient for me. That was my breakfast and lunch combined - my brunch!

Hotel Room
In my most recent trip to KL from 25th - 26th January 2007, I stayed in Grand Continental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. It was located behind Plaza Hotel a 3-star which we usually stayed. This time we tried a different hotel and it looks more appealing from the outside and I am sure it is at least a 4-star hotel. Unlike Plaza Hotel where the bed covers were smelled stale as if not washed for some time, in Grand Continental Hotel, the linen was fresh and laundered. The room was also better lit and settings more cozy.

chandeliers

The above was taken from the lobby of the same hotel of Grand Continental with 4-petaled flower shaped chandeliers. They look like hanging stalactites in a cave that I could’t resist taking a shot at them.

all dishes
Here are all the 4 dishes ordered during my dinner with a good friend in Fishing Village.

finished lobster thermidor
The lobster thermidor was so yummy-licious that we finished it first before the other dishes to do justice to the money.

Green Kale with prawns
Here are some of the four dishes that I ordered and paid for. This is green kale or “kailan” with fresh prawns.

Singapore fried bee hoon
To make the meal more substantial, I called for Singapore fried bee hoon for the carbohydrate.

I manage to dig out some old photos after my trip from Kuala Lumpur. These were taken during dinner in Fishing Village in Penang.
Lobster thermidor
This picture of a tantalizing cheese filled lobster thermidor certainly speaks for itself. Just one word. Ambroisia!

Broccoli with prawns
This was a treat to my friend who’s been so faithful. I ordered 4 dishes in total and the broccoli with fresh prawns is one of them.

Tomorrow I will be going to KL with my boss for some business meetings. The traffic jams in KL is notorious especially during office peak hours. It can come to a slow crawl bumper to bumper for a while. So there was a cartoon joke of the Singapore’s MRT (Mass Rapid Transport by train) to KL taking 4 hours while a simple drive from one end of the road in Kuala Lumpur to the next end of the road takes another 4 hours drive! I just hope and pray that we will not get stuck in massive traffic jams and that the traffic will be smooth going.

Philippians 2:12 - 13 states below:

12. Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
13. for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

There are 4 things to consider when making spiritual growth a choice:

  • Come to your Bible regularly.
  • Open it prayerfully.
  • Read it expectantly.
  • Live it joyfully.
  • And the best way to love God is spelt as TIME. To kickstart this double Oh Seven year, I endeavor to make spiritual growth my choice by obeying the 4 principals above.

Welcome to my new blog. I am so excited I have successfully installed the wordpress files and theme on my own. I kind of like this feminine young fresh look of a teddy bear, a hat and a luggage. The theme is entitled “A Long Journey” that befits the long journey I go through to learn how to set up websites, html and all the internet stuff. I am more of a graphics person, so I like my wordpress themes to look warm and friendly. The pastel colors are inviting and hopefully you will bookmark this site for more updates.
